Pronounciation…[edit]

The intro paragraph doesn’t seem very encyclopædic; the “usual” pronounciation designation is too vague to be useful, and the comment about Colin Powell makes it seem that his pronounciation was his choice alone (what did his parents call him?). Surely it is a regional thing? The rhyme with “pollen” may be the British version, but does that hold true in other places? The “hole in” version has been used by other Americans, and is perhaps closer to the Irish pronounciation. It’s not substantial enough to cite, but for example, there’s an episode of “Kojak” (S. 3 Ep. 11), with a “hole in” pronounciation for the name of a character. 109.155.24.63 (talk) 08:00, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
