Major Changes

In response to the crtiticism of the article not reflecting an international perspective, I seperated the information relating directly to the US and the information related to clinical neuropsychology in general. I haven't yet made any changes to these sections, but I will.

I added a section relating to the educational requirements of becoming a clinical neuropsychologist in Australia. More countries to come. If you know this information for other countries, please feel free to add this and please add refernces to back up the information. MitchMcM (talk) 10:41, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Structural changes

All of the information was in a large chunk, so I moved it under a subheading so that a lede can be written. The information still needs to be divided up under sub-headings though.

I made a fair few minor edits and rewrote some sentences that were a bit awkwardly worded. I also removed some information about Ed.D. being an appropraite qaulification for a clinical neuropsychologist. To my knowledge thats not the case, but I may be wrong, if so please replace this in the appropraite country's section with a reference.

Assessment Section

I rewrote the whole unreferenced Assessment section with referenced material. I cut and pasted the previous information, so I'll replace any of the important info that I find references for. There is definitely more that can be added to all of the new sections, especially the section on selection of tests. When I get time I'll also add sections on employment setting and rehabilitaion too.

In the meantime I welcome any advice/comments/edits from other users- sometimes it feels like I'm the only one on this page.... The page could benefit from a greater variety of references. I removed the unreferenced tag as the page is now quite well referenced, if you add any information please reference it or it will be removed, as it took me several months to remedy the problem of unreferenced material.

The goldstein ref is from 1981. This is too old per WP:MEDRS.

The second ref, PMID 29282641 is fine.

The third ref, PMID 29236528 is also fine. Please be careful how you deal with WEIGHT you give content for this; DBS is a fairly rare procedure. Jytdog (talk) 01:51, 6 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello again! A few ideas for expanding the page. I would like to expand on the therapies utilized in clinical neuropsychology, the subject is vast and definitely worth exploring more. The history of neuropsychology could also be discussed in more detail. The biggest thing I would like to add though is a section dedicated to the strengths and weaknesses of clinical neuropsychology, I believe it is an essential piece that would really bring the page to life. It is hard to work on a high level page like this. But sure something about therapies utilized would be OK, at a very high level. You probably want to look at exiting articles on those therapies and carefully summarize them here, wikilinking to them. (see WP:SYNC and WP:SUMMARY) When working on high level articles like this, it is really important to "meta-edit" to keep WP consistent with itself.

As for summarizing the exciting new therapies, I was going to look for literature reviews on recent therapies to try and get a broad overall view, do you have other suggestions? I'm glad the history idea is acceptable. What I meant by strengths and weaknesses is just two separate sections, one dedicated to each acknowledging the good and bad portions of Clinical Neuropsychology. Possibilities could be discussing therapies that have or have not been successfully replicated or historical successes or failures in therapies that have been implemented. Basically just two sections that acknowledge both sides and allows the reader to get a full understanding and make a decision for themselves what they think of it.
