Popular Response[edit]

Was the film "pulled from distribution" due to US entry into WW1? Richard Arndt, in First Resort of Kings (p 29 of hardcover edition) says that the ending was rewritten to show Jesus and Wilson supporting war instead of opposing it. Can we get some clarification on the accuracy of the 1996 article cited here and/or Arndt's counter-evidence? Martindo (talk) 06:07, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Message? What message?[edit]

The article talks about the film's message. But what, exactly, is that message? Anti-war in general? Or opposing the US entry in a war that already rages? The text claims the film is "pacifist" and "anti-war", but no citations are given, so how do we know how to distinguish one (no war for anyone) from the other (no war for us)? Plus Martindo's question above. CapnZapp (talk) 11:10, 7 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
