The article needs to expand on the topic. A list of films is not enough and may soon be moved to a parallel series of list articles. Hoverfish 08:04, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

I am a journalist living and writing about the film industry in south africa. I would like to submit two related but seperate articles. One would cover a brief history of the film making grants and tax break systems that have exixted in south africa, as well as a history of film in the country in particular reference to films made in the 30's and forties that were destoyed entirely during apartheid era, the filming of the boer war (1900s) for newsreels, the tax breaks for white filmmakers policies of the 1980's and the current film grant systems list of requirements and how filmmakers meet these. In addition to this I would like to start an in depth section on film makers currently making origional south african films and thier filmographies and histories (whether they came up through the new film schiool system, through advertising, through working thier way through the heirachy). I find that though the list of south african film list mentions films by name, it does in no way describe or illuminate the incredible struggle some film makers have had, nor conversly the ease others have had. Obviously I can only make a begining, but i have a fair amount of information and would like to know how to make a start.
