Things that I would like added to this page:

Instead of Books, Works would be appropriate. He has done many talks and audio publications.

Fair use rationale for Image:ChristopherWest.JPG[edit]

Image:ChristopherWest.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Am I too late to do a rationale now ? Alan347 (talk) 11:21, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The image has been deleted and anyway I can see no way that you could meet these guidelines - specifically item 1 applies. noq (talk) 13:37, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Link to Remnant Newspaper[edit]

Okay, so looking over the history of this page, there seems to be multiple reverts all relating to a single external link. It's this one: http://remnantnewspaper.com/Archives/archive-2008-theology_of_the_body.htm It seems like the fact that someone bothered to write an article in a "newspaper" about Mr. West, even a critical one, is relevant to this bio entry. I'm not sure who is putting this link in, or who is taking it out, but surely it's time to figure out what WikiPolicies apply, resolve the issue, and stop with this back-and-forth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.31.106.35 (talk) 17:12, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is not quite what it is. It is a question and answer type of column, perhaps like Letters to the Editor, except it was a question and it was answered. The problems are, this has about the status of a blog, that is, reasonable for the opinion of the writer but not much else. Second, if a link like this is to improve the article, make it from a more notable source, and direct commentary/content about the article's topic, rather than an online answer to a question giving the writer room to throw fancy rhetoric around. Read the column: it reads like a freshman composition piece trying to be as colorful and hyberbolic as possible. Furthermore, it does not take much reading to see that the author would not have a stellar reputation for fact-checking. While it is not used as a reference, the sum total of all of these issues makes it pretty clear the article is better off without it. Baccyak4H (Yak!) 18:39, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That explanation makes sense. Let's leave this discussion here on the talk page, so that whoever is trying to put that link in can be referred to this explanation. That will avoid the repeated back-and-forth that has occurred here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.35.35.34 (talk) 19:15, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pages about some of his books[edit]

I'd like to see some pages about some of his books. Especially (1) Good News About Sex and Marriage and (1) Theology of the Body. Alan347 (talk) 12:43, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Commentaries[edit]

A line of the commentaries has been removed by an editor with a possible coi stating that it " is very unfair, and untrue. Please avoid this sort of attacks in articles" David L. Schindler is a provost, dean and professor at the Pontifical Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family, he makes a valid criticism and it is well referenced to the Catholic News Agency…I have re-added the section. It should not be misconstrued as an attack?TeapotgeorgeTalk 12:30, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest a section called "Criticisms" as is found in the biographies of many other controversial authors. The "Commentaries" section reads like praise from a fan, not an objective encyclopedia article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:18E:8200:ECA6:8C1:EC34:B3AF:AF69 (talk) 13:46, 21 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
