Balanced content and notability[edit]

I've gone back to the version last edited by User:Eric Corbett, because

  • claims are supported by the sources. e.g. first free daily, not first free paper
  • language is more balanced and has less hyperbole ("tycoon" etc)
  • content is more balanced and includes discussion of the Birmingham Press, otherwise article is reporting beneficial claims and not reporting adverse ones, read like a promo
  • is slightly more convincing of notability. The article survived WP:PROD with an impressive claim of "first free paper" (which seems unsound) and without that the Birmingham Press story is the most compelling content left.
  • removed full DOB, I think based on WP:DOB we should maybe have the year if we can source it

It's still not a great article but has clearly improved (thanks User:Eric Corbett!). It does seem to suffer from promotional content (re)appearing, I suppose this is pretty normal in the media business, but it needs to be NPOV and we shouldn't need to have anything in there which looks overly COI to make it notable.
