Wrong information[edit]

Chlorophyllase (Chlase) is NOT involved in the chlorophyll breakdown. It localizes to the cytosol, NOT to the thylakoid membrane. Pheophytin hydrolase (PPH) is the enzyme which hydrolyses the phytol chain.

Chlase has though Chlorophyll a, b and Pheophytin as substrate. Once the Chloroplast envelope is destroyed, Chlase is very active (higher activity than the other chlorpohyll breakdown enzymes) on its substrates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.60.201.165 (talk) 13:15, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
