Clarification[edit]

From the introduction "Pyromaniacs only set about 14% of fires.", does this mean 14% of fires deliberately set, or of all fires? 14% sounds like an awful lot of fires. Propose removing 'only'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.216.191 (talk) 20:45, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's semi-vaguely worded here, but I've seen it stated elsewhere that it is 14% of all intentional arsons/arsons that are suspected to be intentional. 72.191.116.59 (talk) 03:52, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Galen Encyclopedia Reference[edit]

The article makes numerous references to the Galen Encyclopedia, yet it is missing the name of the article within the encyclopedia being used, which seems odd if it was actually being used as a reference. If the article name can not be found, I think these references need to be removed as being unfounded or unsupported. AnmaFinotera (talk) 09:34, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • You haven't read the citation closely enough. It gives the exact page numbers. So just find out what article titles apply to those pages and fill in the missing field of the template. Uncle G (talk) 11:31, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Do you have a copy on hand? I don't :P If the person who cited it could give the page numbers, I don't see why they couldn't also fill in the article name. AnmaFinotera (talk) 17:43, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

holy crap that prevalence rate is high!!![edit]

Anyone notice how high pravalence rates are on mental disorders? I mean, they say that 2% of all adults have OCD, and I've met a lot of adults in my life, but none of them, as i know, have OCD!! And they say 11% of all people will get social anxiety disorder, but I have NEVER met a social phobic person in my life, except for myself. But the pravalence rate of 1% is just ridiculous, I almost think it's vandalism. WikiYoung27 (talk) 03:52, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Same here(except for the 5 years part), I set leaves on fire for the screaming hell of it. I'd recommend bringing a bucket of water with you, just in case something important catches fire and think of other stuff to do if you wanna stop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.25.20.89 (talk) 22:06, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WTF?[edit]

Not much is known about what genetically causes pyromania...

How much more idiotic can you get than that nugget? How the hell could genes direct fire-setting? Mind-blowingly stupid line of thought. 122.151.210.84 (talk) 03:03, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
