balance of emphasis[edit]

I have temporarily removed the text below for further consideration. There are a number of sub-communities with the village - Chasidic, Sufi, anthroposophic, surely others as well - and I am concerned about giving undue weight to one particular one (even though I personally have affiliations with this one!). There are quite a few people in Chestnut Ridge who would read the article as it stood as very unrepresentative of the village as they know it.

(original text:) The culture of Chestnut Ridge is influenced by the large concentration of Anthroposophical institutions in the village. These include Threefold Educational Center, Green Meadow Waldorf School, Sunbridge College, School of Eurythmy, Fellowship Community, the Pfeiffer Center, and the Christian Community Church (although the church is located just over the border in Monsey). Many Anthroposophists reside in Chestnut Ridge and have created a subculture within the Village.

I am also concerned that other churches, synagogues and mosques and other schools in Chestnut Ridge are not represented here. We should probably have a section on schools, one on religious institutions, and so on, integrating the existing list of anthroposophic institutions into the various sections. Otherwise the article appears to be promoting one group and ignoring other, equally valid institutions. hgilbert (talk) 02:11, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
