Article shows a fully partiality A4ay 07:32, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you've got to read your own user talk page once in a while, or explain properly with examples as to what you mean by "partiality". Thanks & regards Kris (☎ talk | contribs) 09:14, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA review[edit]

Informationally speaking, this has a lot of promise. There are a number of issues that need to be dealt with before this can be considered.

  1. The references need to be cited better. See WP:CITE for pointers.
Along with this, consider some non-web references. They may be hard to come by given the language gap, but his importance would probably suggest some possible better references.
  2. It's very listy. Consider working the paragraph breaks for performances and appearances into a more prose-based standard. The way it breaks up is jarring when read.
  3. Consider moving the recordings to their own separate pages. The article is detailed enough where it doesn't need to be here, plenty can be said to sustain individual articles, and that's the basic standard anyway.
  4. Fair use images need rationales, and if you're planning to eventually bring this to FA, you may need some more detail regarding the GFDL licensing, but I'm not sure about that.

Good luck! --badlydrawnjeff talk 15:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ALSO The article has some WP:NPOV problems as well. I'm afraid it comes across as hero worship of Chembai.--Ling.Nut 02:54, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism by user:venu62[edit]

See this original reversion by venu62 without specifying any rhyme or reason.

I undid that and he repeatedly reverts the page which proves his vandalism. He says I created this article so I cant revert his vandalism, which is plain cock and bull story. Kris (talk) 15:48, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See these discussions regarding this matter. This editor has a history of promoting his websites on wikipedia. WP:NPA guidelines tell us that calling a valid edit vandalism is a personal attack. Parthi talk/contribs 19:43, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bot report : Found duplicate references ![edit]

In the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

Edits by IP[edit]

There has been a series of edits by IP address editors. They seem to be inserting material that, in my opinion, is at least partially un-encyclopaedic and not appropriate here. Can some admins review and decide whether to protect the page from IP addresses for a while, so that we get to know true identity of the possible fan club? VasuVR (talk, contribs) 16:06, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the refs are either dead links or non-RS sources. I'd second semi-pp for a while. -SpacemanSpiff 18:05, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd third semi-pp; too much puppetry. Ncmvocalist (talk) 19:35, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There seems to be a pattern of content removals by Spaceman and Ncmvocalist that appear to be not inspired by good faith. I would like to know how the content that was previously existing (for a long time) is removed repeatedly without first discussing them or giving reasons on each of the refs or paras that are being deemed unencyclopedic. List down which of the following content removed from here is from a non RS source please. 86.96.128.4 (talk) 19:11, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Since there is no reply to the above by any of the reverters for over a week, it is presumed that the original content can be restored, and those who are interested in making further edits can reason each edit here before making wholesale removal of content and refs 86.96.226.13 (talk) 07:32, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, three editors have just said that your edits haven't contributed any value to the article, they add completely unreliable and unencyclopaedic content in. I've reverted again. -SpacemanSpiff 07:38, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ChembaiChembai Vaidyanatha BhagavatharChembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar is his name, where Chembai is only the village name. In all other 'Wikis', the article name is Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar.
Anish Viswa 05:04, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per WP:UCN. He is most commonly known by the name "Chembai", even though it is not his full given name. One hates to compare him to "Prince" or "Madonna", but actually those examples are not far off of why we should call him "Chembai" and not "Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar". Good Ol’factory (talk) 10:10, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. He is almost universally known as Chembai and not by his full name. While the name stands for his village, this is a case where the name itself is associated primarily with the individual and not the place from which he got it. When the village article is created it can reside at Chembai, Palakkad district and a hatnote from here should suffice. —SpacemanSpiff 18:46, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Those who oppose, please tell me how this article (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) is named so, even though the whole world knows him as Mahatma Gandhi ?
Anish Viswa 01:17, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There was a recent discussion where it was proposed that that article be moved to Mahatma Gandhi, and I supported that proposal. In other words, I believe that that article is currently misnamed. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:33, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is no specific example under WP:UCN to map to this one. Using just 'Chembai' feels like calling a buddy, sometimes sound irreverent also. In all formal and official cases, his name is referred only as Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, with due respect, by Government bodies and media. This is not the case of a popular name and another formal name, but a case where only a portion of his name is used (which actually do not contain his name). If the above argument is to be taken, then the article William Shakespeare should become Shakespeare, becuase the world calls him by that single name only.
