Anti-Hero[edit]

Would you guys say that Chazz is an anti-hero? He does have some heroic qualities: he helps protect the Spirit Keys, saves Duel Academy from his brothers, and in Sartorius' own words: "Monster spirits don't often interact with the human world, but when they find someone they trust, they can be quite loyal", so the Ojama Brothers find Chazz trustworthy. And yet, he all but hates the Red Dorm, looks down on others, and overall has a major attitude problem. Not to mention I don't recall many heroes in tattered black coats.

So, would you say Chazz is an anti-hero, or just a hero with a bad attitude. User: Drake Clawfang

I think he's more of a hero with a bad attitude. He has his heart in the right place (sort of) and really does care about Jaden and company as his friends. (And Alexis as something more...) And he likes the Ojama Brothers, too, even though he says he hates them. User: Raven23

Details, details[edit]

I've reverted my edit back. I've never before been told that more information is a bad thing until now. If I added too many details (maybe I went into too much with the duels), then edit it so the details aren't there. Gimme a break, just look at this featured article on Padme Amidala- her appearance in the Star Wars films is pretty in-depth; far more than this article was previously. Y BCZ 21:38, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Padme: Don't know, don't care, one way or the other, irrelevant to Yugioh in all concievable fashions. A longer article is not a better article. As for editting it so the details aren't there, just did. Drake Clawfang 22:16, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
More information can be a bad thing if the information is trivial and not of use to non-fans. JuJube 22:21, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's no need to add episode-by-episode info, which is all you're doing. If people want to know that kind of stuff they can visit the episode pages or the other character pages. In the meantime, I have a headache, and other things to do. I'll let someone else rv you this time. Drake Clawfang 22:42, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's all the important stuff about him. Maybe if you actually took the time to read the stuff I've changed you'd agree with me. Y BCZ 22:45, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did read it. Everyone you added is just additional details on top of what was already said, and isn't needed. Drake Clawfang 22:54, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, screw it. Let the article remain stagnant, see if I care. I'm going back the Avatar pages where my opinion and contributions and extensions of small pages are valued. Y BCZ 23:00, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So, should we feel burned or sorry because you're leaving in a huff? Grow up. My edits are undone all the time. Deal with it. Drake Clawfang 23:14, 3 February 2007 (UTC) I watched the entire dub, a big fan of jaden yuki (not judai) and I feel that the details are pretty nice. At least you know Chazz top to bottom. Voice[edit]

I noticed in the English YGOGX, Chazz's voice becomes considerably weaker. Is this part of an episode I missed or does this have to do with the voice actor? FinalWish 23:45, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's speculation, but it sounds pretty likely that Tony Salerno had a cold during the recording of the last episodes. JuJube 00:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is no written proof anywhere stating either Pete Capella OR Tony Salerno played either Jaden or Chazz. This is because in 4Kids' credits, they only list the names of the VA, and not the characters they played; it also seems to be in alphabetical order, so there's no way to determine it without knowing a VA's prior roles. However, there is evidence to suggest Capella does voice Chazz and not Jaden, and all of it is found in his MySpace page: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=626171

  • Capella stated in February that he was leaving for auditions in California, and is currently living there. This is logically around the same time the current seasonal dub of GX would have been in production, and if Chazz was indeed played by Capella, would explain his voice change in this season. Also note that Jaden's voice has not changed in the slightest, which is difficult to explain if Capella is his voice actor.
  • Also on the page is a video of his role as Silver the Hedgehog in the game Sonic the Hedgehog(2006)|Sonic the Hedgehog]], and in comparison, is quite similar to Chazz's original voice; more so, at least, than it is with Jaden's voice.

I would also like to note that I believe Chazz is currently being voiced by Marc Thompson, using a variation of his Cobra Commander voice in G.I. Joe Sigma 6 with traces of his voice for Duke Devlin from the previous YGO series. Understand that this is also impossible to prove, as his name is also listed in the credits, but like the others, has no defined role, nor does he have a website of his own. I feel, however, that I have provided sufficient evidence from what is available, and will attempt to change this and all related articles to reflect this new information. I don't know if this means Tony Salerno is the one who voices Jaden, or if it's someone else entirely, but I know for certain that it's not Pete Capella.

  • Saying that a couple of other characters sound like Chazz does not constitute a change of VA. It's original research and not a valid source. The Clawed One 04:16, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a way to prove it either way? Like I said, 4Kids only lists the VAs and not their roles, and any info online is fan-submitted. Where was the source that proved Capella voices Jaden or Salerno voices Chazz in the first place?Batwing321 04:24, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Talk to Benten about that, he knows all this data better than pretty much any other user. He supplied the original data, I believe.

Yeah, I'll do that as soon as the 4 day mark clears. I'll get this info changed, you can bet on that. Batwing321 04:56, 24 June 2007 (UTC) Okay, Capella has been credited as Chazz on IMDb for the first 2 seasons, and Thompson has been so for the season 3 eps. Therefore, I'm now changing them. It also shows Matthew Charles and Pete Capella are different people.Batwing321 22:43, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VA Confusion: We need consensus, people![edit]

Okay, I talked to Pete Capella over MySpace. Basically, he didn't tell me he played, but he mentioned that a lot of the info about him on Wiki is wrong (he's even tried to change it himself, but it kept getting messed up.) In short, he said it was pretty much a losing battle (but gave props for trying.) I've also spoken to another user here who said that usually VA's for characters are figured out by comparing them to known roles, and that even though it's technically original research and against the rules, it's often accepted if there's a common consensus about it. I think it's high time we try to figure this thing out about Chazz and Jaden's true VAs (Again, for the record, I tried to get it from the Capella's mouth, but didn't get a straight answer.) We can't just go by "This info was here first" clause, because it stands to be revised. I mean, just listen to Silver (Capella's totally confirmed role); if we compared him to Jaden and Chazz, who would it be said to be? Sure, we gotta try to get proof (if anyone wants to talk to Capella themselves, power to ya), but we also need to apply some logic here, a little "original research". Maybe without total proof it won't do squat, but if we can't go by 4Kids' ambiguous crediting system, and we don't have an answer from the man himself, what's there left to do? Listen up and figure it out ourselves with what we do verifiably know. All I have to go on is Silver; if anyone has another character that you're sure sounds like Chazz or Jaden, or you know one of their supposed VA's confirmed roles, speak up! Maybe he's right and that it is a losing battle to change it, but I'm not going to back down just yet, thank you very much. So tell me: who wants to figure this out once and for all, and not just settle for the wrong info rotting it the water like this?Batwing321 03:23, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I dont mean to be rude,but..,[edit]

Has anyone but me on the face of the earth noticed how similar Chazz and Jaden are to Seto and Yugi respectivley?Even their positions of protagonist and miss understood antagonist bare way too obvious resemblance.I was wanting to know if anyone else thinks this is worth mention in their articals.

  • In terms of their positions in the series, you might be right, but Jaden is nothing like Yugi and Chazz is... well, Chazz is different from Seto, let's just say. JuJube 08:51, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Death?[edit]

Okay, I'm thoroughly confused. From what I read in the article, it sounds like being consumed by darkness meant that he died, but I'm not sure. Could anyone clear it up? R e i k a 19:23, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think even the writers can clear it up. He came back after Judai/Jaden defeated Darkness/Nightshroud, as did everyone else. JuJube (talk) 23:33, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

This shouldn't be merged, for one he is a MAIN CHARACTER of the series. Is Hiroto Honda or Maximillion Pegasus from Yu-Gi-OH merged? —Preceding unsigned comment added by O'erTheRampardos (talkcontribs) 01:40, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some would argue that they should be. I would object to Pegasus, as he was a major antagonist in a story arc, but Honda I have no real opinion on. GX had a wide array of Scoobies, none of which had much revealed about them because Judai is a limelight-stealing prat. JuJube (talk) 04:53, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
