The CRI is an integral part of the university. The entire Mechanical Engineering Department is now located on this campus (class rooms, labs and staff offices). Eventually the entire Engineering College will be relocated here. The Research Park is located several miles away and is being funded through private industry and will be run by several universuties including UNC Charlotte. The two are completely seperate except for cooperation between them.
