Intelligence Citations Bibliography for Articles Related to IQ Testing

I have posted a bibliography of Intelligence Citations for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in those issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. There is a very good discussion of Cox's work in Shurkin's book Terman's Kids, which is a good read in general by an experienced science writer who had the first independent access to the Terman study files. Early life

Little is written about Catharine's early life (pre-marriage/pre-professional). A decent amount of information can be found in Robert Sears' article about her in the The American Journal of Psychology. This information will be added by me/my group in the next few weeks. Catharine and Walter

The work that she did with her husband was a major part of her life. This is especially true as she was a predominant figure in a mostly male field. I have the intention of adding/citing the information found in their joint articles as well as from her biography. This will add detail to both her personal and professional life on her page. Psychology and Sex

The contributions that Cox-Miles had with Terman daling with Psychology and Sex. They Wrote a book together and it eventually led to many disagreements between the teacher and student pair. Cox-Miles views were different thatn some of those of Terman so not as much of her work was published in the book as she was believed to have actually contributed. Cox-Miles was a feminist, and she also did many studies on sex differences and the psychology behind them, also studying women and the pregnancy process. Catharine Cox Miles

This article can be improved by adding more information about the subject (Catharine Cox). For example, her work and what she had accomplished during her career period. We can also add more background information about Catharine cox, so that way we better understand more about her. There are different ways that we can collect her information, like finding articles online (Google scholar and Online database) and finding books. For example, we should consider reading book called “Terman's Kids”. One of the Wiki editors suggested to read this book since it has a good discussions about Catharine Cox work Sadia.abdulkadir (talk) 21:53, 9 October 2014 (UTC).

To Do List

This article is pretty basic and will likely be treated like we are starting from scratch.

1. CCM early life- her parents, birth, schooling, interests, and anything that comes before (pivotal event) I'm not sure what this will be but this section will likely cover birth to college.

2. CCM and Terman- IQ testing. This seems to be Catharine's most important contribution to psychology. A bit from Terman's Kids/how CCM was involved should be included in this section.

3. Her work with her husband- What did they do together? Did she lead him or did he lead her in their research? I know they met while both working under Terman and Walter had an interest in vision (he is called a "vision expert). Unfortunately, Walter does not have his own wikipedia page so we will not be able to link the two. But using research that Terman did with Walter and what Terman did with Catharine, I think we'll be able to make a good connection.

4. Read "Early Mental Traits of Three Hundred Geniuses"- This piece was huge for CCM. If you search the word Greatness on Wikipedia, Catharine's book is explained in its own subsection, right after Galton, as an argument for Greatness (superiority, being "better") being attributed to genetics. 5. Add in some of the more substantial contributions she made about her sexual differences ideas and theories, including posting about the masculinity-femininity scale she helped develped. I would enjoy doing this section.

6. Elaborate again on some of her research with IQ testing, it has been stated already but she has quite a bit of it. I could elaborate, again, on the study she did on achieved eminence and IQ, and would like to do so. Brooke.bjerke (talk) 16:16, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

7. Since Catherine Cox Miles was known for her role on intelligence, it is always good idea to look at more of her work on this area. There are different article she wrote about Intelligence, and I will be happy to contribute and edit more about this area.

8. While also looking at her work on sex difference in association of ideas-in terms of the subject and in terms of the stimulus and responses. I will also contribute this area of her work. In addition, there is a book called Terman's Kids which has good discussion about Catherine Cox Work, and I believe we can get more information from this book too Sadia.abdulkadir (talk) 21:05, 17 October 2014 (UTC).

One of Cox’s work on Intelligence where she examined age difference among adults. This study can be added to the IQ section of this article for more improvement about Cox’s work.

A guideline like that is just a suggestion, and should follow what the sources say about the person. The topics you mentioned in the earlier talk page section would, in many cases, fit well as subtopics in the model outline shown here. For example, the specific topics that Cox Miles researched could fit under Major contributions quite readily.
