– The article Washington was moved to Washington (U.S. state) (later just "(state)") in May 2010 after it was agreed that Washington could also refer to Washington, D.C.. Some articles like list of counties in Washington will not need to be moved. Marcus Qwertyus 07:59, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Support per nom. I would have no problem with "X in Washington state", but it really would make more sense if the main article was titled Washington state. Oppose moves to "X in Washington (state)". Parenthetical disambiguation in descriptive titles is unnecessary and just bad style.
