Cantona (disambiguation)CantonaCantona currently redirects to Eric Cantona, and even though that article is clearly a lot more prominent than either Joel Cantona or Cantona (archaeological site), I see no clear indication there is a primary topic for the bare term, and even on the French wikipedia the primary title is occupied by the dab page. – Uanfala (talk) 13:17, 8 April 2020 (UTC) Relisting. buidhe 04:40, 18 April 2020 (UTC) Relisting. buidhe 19:33, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nomination, KingSkyLord and Ortizesp. No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 00:54, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. I consider the footballer to be the primary topic. With due regard to the disadvantages of a plain search, a Google search for "Cantona" is overwhelmed by returns about Eric. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:16, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The footballer, known commonly by his surname, is the clear primary topic. I say this, incidentally, as a complete non-football-fan, but sometimes these things are self-evident. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:48, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, no indication that the current primary topic is not the primary topic given. -- JHunterJ (talk) 15:57, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support seems legit. PointComm (talk) 15:59, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose nom is not (yet) convincing for changing the status quo. Per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC - some arguments based on stats or other grounds useful. The current PT (Eric article) is much more prominent than his brother, and I've not heard of the site. It appears a likely PT, so raises the bar for delisting it as such. There may be a large geographical bias (and not necessarily just France/French speaking, so I wouldn't put too much weight on .fr per WP:OTHERSTUFF), in the UK it would certainly be the PT, known commonly by his surname. In time sportspeople change, so no bar for revisiting this at a later date. Nom even concedes it's the most prominent article, so that leaves a thin space for "more likely than all others together", which has not been discussed aside of a weak Ghits argument. • Support as not an appropriate WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. These sort of last name redirects really don't help anyone. -- Netoholic @ 18:39, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support this really isn't in the same category as Lenin or Nixon where a highly distinctive mononym justifies a redirect. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:56, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
