Possible expansions for this article[edit]

Perhaps the extent of the involvement of the Queen in this origination would be an acceptable expansion for this article? --68.145.99.4 (talk) 17:31, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality and Quality of article is lacking[edit]

The CMA is a lobbyist group, like the AMA. The article as is has promotional/biased opinion and where there are concrete facts, these are unsubstantiated/uncited, leaving them as assertions without any evidence. Furthermore, its mention of "accrediting" educational programs is highly problematic and misleadingly suggestive. Provinces have "colleges of physicians" as they do "colleges of dentists/teachers" which are regulated by government and offer an official license to practice. If the CMA offers some kind of certificate of approval, for example to universities, it should be noted that this would be legally irrelevant as they do so on a national basis, while health care regulation is split between provincial and national governments in a Federal country like Canada. So any educational programs that are certified by the CMA would not be certified in any professionally meaningful way. As a more opinionated note: the CMA is a highly self interested lobby group and it is presented here as a kind of pseudo-charitable, allied-with-government institution. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.137.229.117 (talk) 01:13, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
