Wikiproject Prisons[edit]

If anyone's interested, I've proposed a new wikiproject for the creation and improvement of articles regarding specific prisons, internment camps, and detention centers here. --Cdogsimmons (talk) 02:05, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, not a Prison[edit]

While CRC is operated by the Dept of Corrections and inmates there wear garb emblazoned with "CDC Inmate", the California courts have held that inmates at CRC are not incarcerated in a prison, but rather "civil addicts" detained in a treatment program. On the upside for them, this means that a term served there will not count as a "prior prison term" for purposes of the one year enhancement on future convictions pursuant to Penal Code Section 667.5(b). On the downside, it means that CRC inmates don't get the "good time" credits prison inmates receive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.29.79.73 (talk) 21:39, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
