Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement because according to the copyvio report provided by the nominator, copyright violation is unlikely. Therefore, COSCO Shipping Lines fails WP:G12. That only a very small portion of the article is "similar" to another webpage does not justify we delete the entire page. Most importantly, I suspect the nominator has a serious conflict of interest with me, the article creator. He has already been warned of hounding (WP:HOUND) by another editor. I say he is not qualified to unilaterally raise deletion nominations against my edits. Also, he has not discussed his concerns in the article talk page, and he has already nominated this article for WP:Afd less than 24 hours ago. We must ask: why is he so determined to delete this page?? Cartle R255 17:02, 20 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed edits, WP:ATD[edit]

@Matthew hk: Instead of deleting this entire article, I propose we keep it and make some edits. Here is what I propose:

  • Remove the awards section.
  • Add a link to COSCO Group as main article in the History section under the China Ocean Shipping Co. subsection.
  • Move the irrelevant content to COSCO Group article.
  • Rephrase copyvio content.
  • Edit cosco.com citations to include wayback

How about I proceed with these edits? Cartle R255 17:01, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed the above edits. If desired, we can relocate the deleted content to the COSCO page, as it is relevant there. Already, I relocated an image from here to there. Hopefully the article is now better. Cartle R255 20:22, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shanghai Ocean Shipping Co.[edit]

Not sure if it is best to have Shanghai Ocean Shipping Co. or COSCO Shanghai Branch. Cartle R255 17:41, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced all instances of Shanghai Ocean Shipping Co. with COSCO Shanghai Branch. COSCO Shanghai is the name which is used on the company's corporate website. Also, there seems to be a current company by the name Shanghai Ocean Shipping, so this change will remove any ambiguity. Please discuss here before reverting it.
