Broadcasting Time

OK I've just looked into the article and found that C.O.P.S. once aired on Cartoon Network between 2001 and 2005 and on Nickelodeon between 1998 and 2001. How come why I didn't see it on both channels? I do get Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon on cable. So, I have to asked. --Crazyharp81602 18:38, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Sorry. I had to remove references to the claim involving the airing of C.O.P.S. in recent years on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. Because as far as I know, I honestly do not remember myself catching the series on either of those channels. --Crazyharp81602 04:40, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

About the 66th episode, why would it not be listed by most people? The article doesn't explain -- was it aired on a random date, was it never aired again and thus forgotten? I wish to know :) Piepants 22:30, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Piepants

That episode, The Case of the Boy Nobody Wanted, is part of the series. I'm sure of that. But, I'm not sure when's it first aired and what episode number it is, yet. I'll have to ask around about that before I know for sure of that.--Crazyharp81602 22:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

editing

I edited many spelling errors, reworded much into a more encyclopediac appearance and removed a link to a bootleg DVD due to the questionable legality there. The article needs MUCH more polishing, but hopefully this will make the article easier for someone to read (especially a casual or non-fan of the show). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 19:08, 22 June 2006 (talkcontribs) 12.42.199.132 Pyrogen 14:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

potential info/external links

There is an extensive Q&A with C.O.P.S. creators and some never-before-seen character sketches in this article: http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toyfare/004165286.cfm

I'm the editor for the site so I'm not posting this in the article proper, but figured an objective wiki editor might find it worth a link. Gatrbite25 14:24, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Gatrbite25

Fair use rationale for Image:Copslogo.jpg

Image:Copslogo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:39, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Merge

Yes to merge a natural. Plumpurple (talk) 22:11, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

As much as I disagree that C.O.P.S. For Kids should be merged if it is to be merged to List of C.O.P.S. episodes as the information is episodic. Dwanyewest (talk) 01:10, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Plus I believe the external link should be removed the Spike website link is dead Dwanyewest (talk) 01:11, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Merges of Character Articles

Consensus at several AFDs for C.O.P.S. Characters has fallen to Merge those articles into this one. Since almost all of the information in those articles is a) plot, and b) unsourced, it seems that there is very little to profitably merge. I would suggest, then, that we change the "Characters" list to a "Cast" list, and list the most primary characters with name and voice actor. For example, we'd have:

We already list random cast members in the infobox; this would be a way to clarify who did what, and to provide the only real information we have. It also cleans the list a bit. Thoughts? UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 14:35, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

This seems like a reasonable solution to the problem of merging unreferenced information. Could also call the section "Cast and characters" as I've seen that used many times. It might help prevent the re-creation of a separate character section with OR-filled/unsourced descriptions. Sarilox (talk) 06:13, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

I have added as many of the voice cast as I can if anyone else can add to it be my guest! Dwanyewest (talk) 04:32, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Just a note, Dwanyewest's cast-related edits fall under "Simple, non-creative lists of information" that do not require editor attribution, per WP:Copying within Wikipedia#Where attribution is not needed. Flatscan (talk) 04:44, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I think the remaining character bios should merged here any opinions? Dwanyewest (talk) 11:44, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

  • I support the mergers, and since there were no complaints, I would perform them. --LoЯd ۞pεth 02:23, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Ken Ryan

I have to point out that the link to Ken Ryan (the voice of Bulletproof) links to a baseball player named Ken Ryan, not the voice actor/former Global Television Network promotional announcer.24.57.249.250 (talk) 00:20, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Setting: Year

Was it ever canonically stated that it was the year 2020? The Shout Factory press release (link in References) is not proof; it could have been recently written by an employee at Shout Factory who just arbitrarily assumed 2020 because the fashions and vehicles seem to be future-1920s and 2020 is a round number.

If I were going to arbitrarily pick a year, I would choose 2028, so it would be 40 years after the debut of the series and 100 years after the 1920s, which seems to have come back in style in the C.O.P.S. future.
