Capitalized[edit]

I'm confused if the word "burley" is to be capitalized or not. In line 1 of par. 2 it is not. In the caption beneath the image of the Russell Spears farm it is. Musicwriter (talk) 16:52, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, whence the name? I have one source that says burley was grown before 1860, red burley (see below) for cigar and pipe tobacco, but it doesn't give the origin. --D Anthony Patriarche, BSc (talk) 16:14, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Red Burley[edit]

Is this article only focusing on the white variety? There should be mention of red, too. — al-Shimoni (talk) 03:20, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Struck me too. Also focussed on American cigarette production, whereas I think of burley as the quintessential pipe tobacco (being from Canada where cigarettes are almost exclusively bright Virginia). Not doubting the statistics offered, but the article needs more balance & a worldwide perspective. Putting this on my watchlist for now, no promises of early attention so feel free to jump in. --D Anthony Patriarche, BSc (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
