Name Origin[edit]

The referenced book by Davies [1] points out that the tribes in the Age of the Völkerwanderung were highly mobile so that the associations of tribes with territory were changing over time. However, he states that, the traditional identification of Bornolm with the prehistoric wanderings of the Burgundians is entirely credible: by no means proven, but more than a mere possibility.

redirect to Duchy of Burgundy[edit]

Hello all- I don't think making this page a redirect to Duchy of Burgundy was a good idea. It seems to have been a unilateral move by a new user called Appah Rao. I would guess that if there were consensus that there be no article titled simply "Burgundy", then that page should be a disambiguation page, not a redirect. agree with this, I put it to redirect back to Burgundy (region) but the article about the region should be just called Burgundy LICA98 (talk) 21:28, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds right to me. Thanks. Do you think maybe we should turn "Burgundy" into a disambiguation page? That's what is on on fr.wp: fr:Bourgogne. Eric talk 21:52, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
no I think just "Burgundy" should be the name of the article about the (former) region (like Limousin or Lorraine for example) LICA98 (talk) 23:23, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
