"Many students study at Burford..." is vague about how many students study there. can we clean that up a bit? RJFJR 20:10, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the Burford Golf Club is revered why is it a redlink? RJFJR 22:15, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the part about the school being near the golf club. "The school is located at the southern end of Burford, adjacent to the revered Burford Golf Club." RJFJR 13:32, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done Thanks for the heads up, this apparently went unnoticed for a while. Kap 7 (talk) 14:30, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Founders[edit]

I have removed Peter Heylin. I have been unable to confirm that he was a founder, and per https://www.burford.oxon.sch.uk/school/school-links/school-house-system/ Heylin house was named after an early student of the school, not a founder. Possibly Peter's father was one of the founders, but it seems unlikely that the school would mention Simon Wysdom in its history but ignore another founder. This 1897 history mentions only Wisdom [Wysdom] being involved in the founding of the school https://www.google.ca/books/edition/Burford/M3ZHAAAAYAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=burford+grammar+school&pg=PA61&printsec=frontcover It quotes the original cornerstone, which again mentions only Wysdom.
