Notability[edit]

This page has been tagged as not notable as it has not been shown that this football team has competed in the FA Cup which is one of the criteria of Football team notability in England.Delusion23 (talk) 23:08, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The team has definitely not taken part in the FA Cup so does not meet FOOTYN. Considering currently if it reaches notability in any other way. It is the biggest active club in Bromsgrove (town of about 30000), it has it's home at Victoria Ground with a capacity almost 5000 (bigger than any other club at this level?), they have an average home attendance equal to the average in leagues 4-5 levels above. "In spirit" replacement of Bromsgrove Rovers... Would any of these qualify for notability? Not really sure myself so someone with more knowledge might want to reply. It may fulfill general notability in that it is a continuation of a club that has pervioudly played in the FA Cup and Conference level football. I'll remove the notability tag just in case :) Delusion23 (talk) 17:45, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notability for not having competed in the FA Cup is a misnomer here as Bromsgrove Sporting cannot meet FA Rules for the FA Cup for two reasons. Primarily, the club has not been running for two years and as a brand new club cannot produce two years accounts to the FA which would make it eligible for FA Cup entry. In addition, the club competes at Step 8 of non-league so requires a promotion to compete in the FA Cup as eligibilty for the competition is Step 7 and above. A further FA Rule will delay participation in the FA Cup as the Club will have to compete in the FA Vase for one season before the FA would accept and FA Cup entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.191.188 (talk) 13:54, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
