While I think this page is mostly accurate there are some incorrect info specifically when it comes to the songwriters. For example: the track called 'Passenger' is said to have the songwriters mentioned from someone's tweet but I did some research on twitter and that tweet got deleted so the mentioned list of supposed songwriters for the track is not valid. Uncredited Writing Contribution?[edit]

This was printed July 2012, and features lyrics very similar to the ones in the song "Till It's Gone". Should anything from this be counted in the page, possibly as a footnote to the tracklisting? Seb mentioned he didn't work on "Work Bitch" on Twitter but I'm assuming he produced an instrumentation that will.i.am heard and decided to re-work and use in the final mix so he ultimately got credited for that but he didn't directly work on the song. Promotion[edit]

Excuse me but it's not right to say she didn't promote. On top of Good Morning America and the E! documentary, she did countless radio interviews, she gave ET, E! and Extra interviews on TV. She went to the UK were she did 5 minutes TV interviews for Germany, France and the UK. She gave interviews to DayBreak, Stylin' In, Would You Rather? ('4music' channel) and This Morning in the UK. She went to Chatty Man too in the UK and gave promotion to Work Bitch. She gave a "release preview" party to all iHeart radio partners (radio stations) across the USA and it was even filmed. She went to the Ellen show today, her UK publicist confirmed another TV interview next week and she hosted Sirius XM Thanksgiving countdown. On top of that she is hosting AT40 with Ryan Seacrest this weekend, she will appear on a UK show called "Surprise Surprise" and she is expected to appear today at a Planet Hollywood welcome party.

It seems to me that an angry fan who thinks promotion is "performing" only wrote this shady article. It is biased to say she didn't promote at all or to leave all the above promotion without any mention. As far as I know, "Chatty Man" and "Ellen" alone is better promotion than Femme Fatale.

Not done: Thanks for wanting to correct this, but we need a verifiable, reliable source for the information. You could confirm your identity somehow, but the facts still wouldn't be verifiable. The ironic thing is that this the source people are using when posting the credits. @DjKeebz: The source for these credits that people are using is the official Britney Jean booklet. I suppose that you as DJ know that that is a legal document used in every major release and is the most reliable source. I don't say there are not errors with booklets sometimes, but when there are issues, the performers usually place the right credits on their websites or similarly. Concept Album?[edit]

This album is listed as a concept album... Yeah, okay, there is a source that claims that this is, but this shouldn't be taken as golden. This is more of an opinion. A concept album wouldn't have "Work B****" as a song that follows the track "Alien". It's clear this is just a standard pop album. Comparing to previous Britney albums, "In The Zone" is the only album she has done to date that could be considered a concept album. Other comparisons are Janelle Monae's "The ArchAndroid" album and Madonna's "American Life" album.

Commercial Failure?[edit]

I can't undestand why it's listed as a commercial failure, while it's sold 100,000 copies on its first week just in the US. Other albums are listed as a 'moderate success' or even 'hits' when charting at top 10 in a minor country... I think it should be listed as a moderate success. Semi-protected edit request on 12 January 2014[edit]

Two new album certifications...[edit]

The album was certified Gold in Brazil and in Venezuela. The source is Sony's facebook page of the respective countries. But here is my question, is that source reliable enough to include it on this page? Not enough info to warrant an individual article. Most of the sources here come from album reviews; per WP:NSONG, it is more appropriate for such content to be included in the album article.   • Against The fact that this song has not been released as a single is not a good enough argument to merge it. In fact, many albums have songs which have their own pages, and if you only want to read about this song, people should not need to read through the whole album article to find info about the song.   • While single release ≠ notability, and non-single release ≠ non-notable, the article is a WP:CFORK as almost all coverage from secondary sources is material found from album reviews.   • Against Don't know why only Rihanna has the right to have articles from all of her songs (non-singles), because the articles from "Fool in Love" and "Do Ya Thang" (which are bonus tracks), only have coverage from secondary sources (in material found from album reviews - and very few reviews - two are from very unknown sources). "Tik Tik Boom" has the same right as those Rihanna songs, it's unnecessary to merge the article, as well as other articles from the album (if they were created), because some of the songs has charted and they have enough material to have its own page as well. Songwriting Credits[edit]

Britney Spears is credited for co-writing every single song on 'Britney Jean' (including all bonus tracks). The information is available on the BMI website and the 'Britney Jean' album liner (info includes all bonus tracks). The AllMusic website also has the same information (standard edition). Voice double/Myah Marie controversy[edit]

Should the Myah Marie controversy be included in the article? Short story: Myah Marie recorded several vocal takes using Britney's signature singing style & tone and such takes were used as lead vocals in most songs of the album (most notably in "Passenger", "Alien", "Body Ache", "Tik Tik Boom" adlibs, etc.) yet she isn't credited, not even as a background vocalist.

The recording session files for "Alien" leaked months ago so we definitely know Myah actually did record backing and lead vocals (even though she's never mentioned in the credits of this song) while Britney only recorded the verses but not the chorus/hook, also Britney's "take me home" line was replaced with one of the takes Myah recorded as you can hear in the final mix of the song. The same situation happened with the song "Passenger" (Britney singing during the verses / Myah singing during the chorus, bridge & high notes) as many people already speculated since the song leaked shortly before the album release and was ultimately confirmed by a number of fans who got hold of the recording session files and months later a couple of DJs released 2 remixes with Britney's original takes and replaced Myah's parts with backing vocals Sia recorded for the song just like she did with "Perfume" (she co-wrote both songs).jrcaporal (talk) 20:40, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

An article addressing the rumors after "Passenger" leaked and fans on twitter did not buy Britney's new vocal abilities.
Nick* (a very talented DJ & longtime Britney fan that has remixed her songs since 2007 who has no reason to lie about the matter only for publicity since he's not really a full-time DJ and he knows he would get in trouble) has replied to angered Britney fans on his twitter a couple of times in the past because he's the one that got the recording session files from various Britney songs in 2013 and has remixed "Alien", "Passenger", "Perfume", "Hold On Tight" and "Tik Tik Boom": On Myah singing the chorus and bridge on "Passenger" back in December, 2013 / On the scandal not being a theory but a solid fact
Nick* also made an statement when his Acoustic Mix for "Passenger" featuring untouched Britney vocals and Sia was released online: Hi! Just to clear this up, apparently Britney only sang the verses and Myah filled in the hook and bridge – most likely due to time constraints, not ability. We wanted to make this a Britney/Sia duet, since Sia has such an interesting style on her own. Hence we named it Britney Spears & Sia, not Britney Spears featuring Sia. From BreatheHeavy.com. Sia's vocals were used because there were no files for the chorus and bridge with Britney's voice, only Myah as both lead and backing vocals and Sia as backing vocals only.

"Alien" Recording Session clips, Britney's parts start only after 1:03 which can be confirmed if you listen to the leaked files from the recording session found online. Again, files labelled as Myah are used as lead vocals for the chorus and no Britney files for those parts of the song are to be found at all. It most certainly should be in the article. Previously in her career, Britney was dogged by rumors that she lipsynched to many of her songs, which she and her team vehemently denied. Current day, few people apart from her manager, Larry Rudolph, dispute that BRitney does in fact mime, has admitted to singing to playback in an infamous video that has surfaced, and has been in trouble numour times for not lipsynching well. Now it appears that she may have also developed a pattern of stealing her background vocalist's voice. Given that the album's sales were lackluster and that the fans admit they largerly dislike this album, the primary reason for this can be directly linked not only to the fact that her fans feel that Britney does not sing her own songs, but also to the feeling of betrayal that comes from this, as Britney promised this was her most "personal" album ever.

It Should Be Easy single status[edit]

I don't know why It Should Be Easy is still displayed as single. The only reference is an Italian website that lists it, with a fan-made cover. There's no official statement elsewhere about the song ever being released as a single, either from the record label, Britney's social media, official website, etc. The only form of release it had was as a remix exclusively issued to clubs, even the article itself links to the reference that mentions Britney's reps denying It Should Be Easy was the third single off the album.

Even if we were to take that Italian radio release as true, the Template:Infobox album#Template:Singles says that promotional and radio singles shouldn't be listed: Do not add specialty- or limited-release singles, such as those supplied to radio stations and music publications, which are often marked as "Promo copy" or "Promotional".. In that same topic, many other tracks from the album were also sent for testing purposes to American radio stations, and they're not listed as singles, because they weren't.

Finally, if we're gonna take that Italian page as gospel, it also lists Matches, and I don't see it being listed as a single on the Glory page. Pokémon Spears (talk) 01:36, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:STYLE before changing correct English grammar to incorrect grammar. Even the sources cited use the correct grammar, and the formatting is now inconsistent all the way through again like it was before I fixed it.
