Etymology

Now we have three different possibilities:

• hill
• a slope to the sea
• from the Old Norse word breiðr meaning broad

At the very least the wording needs to connect the third of these theories with the first two, but none of them are cited. Let's do some digging here. Ben MacDui 20:11, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
