Possible cites for images[edit]

I was on the DC Comics Wikia and I have seen multiple images for the Blue Lantern Corps. However, my skill so far is only at debating people and winning my arguments so if anyone is good at citing and attaching images, all you have to do is go there. Actually anyone who wants to make a page for all the corps with images can go there to get all of it and look awesome, so there ya go. Timmyfitz161 (talk) 06:47, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Bluelantern.jpg[edit]

The image File:Bluelantern.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Charge[edit]

i thouht that the blue rings didn't need to charge like the other ones, either the are working at minimal power, or they are inspireing hope(which apperently repowers them) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.48.141.249 (talk) 05:14, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They need to be in proximity of an active green power ring to access the full extent of their abilities, whether or not their abilities are being augmented by hope. -Hooliganb (talk) 01:21, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i am referring to the way in which the rings charge, i am aware to their relative uselessness in the absence of a green lantern. I was under the impression that the blue power rings did not require a battery in the same way that the others did. The DC wiki article does not list the charge under the Weakness section (Like it does on most of the other power ring articles) and the power battery page only describes a situation where power batteries for all of the groups (including black)are seen by the Flash.173.48.141.249 (talk) 21:31, 8 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Since it's a wiki and composed of user generated content, the DC wiki isn't a verifiable resource and this article shouldn't be altered to resemble the content there. So far, I haven't read anything saying they don't need a battery to charge their rings and the existence of a blue central power battery suggests otherwise. -Hooliganb (talk) 14:43, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
the central battery channels the power into a for usable be the rings, and we have yet to see an actual blue lantern power battery —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.118.10.92 (talk) 01:52, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, Saint Walker's personal power battery was shown on page two of Blackest Night #5 and on the last page of Green Lantern #48. Blackest Night #5, in particular, puts an end to this conversation as it shows Saint Walker using his power battery to charge his ring. He uses his oath, and the blue ring dialogue bubble reads "Power Levels 100%"-Hooliganb (talk) 04:07, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

saint walker[edit]

i think we have enough information on Saint Walker for him to have his own page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.181.108.194 (talk) 21:07, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please give it a rest. You did not invent the Blue Lanterns, Geoff Johns did. You may have come up with a derivative character called the "blue lantern" when you were in college but it does not mean that it has anything to do with the concept discussed on this page, because Geoff Johns did not steal the idea from you. --87.82.207.195 (talk) 13:49, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you've got some evidence proving that you in fact created the Blue Lanterns, then you have to show it to us and actually include a proper citation. Simply telling us you created them and that there's something out there to prove it isn't good enough.

Claims about ownership[edit]

An editor has repeatedly been making spurious claims about having created the Blue Lantern Corps and neglecting to cite any reliable sources at all. This really needs to be dealt with, because it's cluttering up the page and completely unreliable, to boot. --Vaerinn (talk) 19:20, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Daniel Hatem[edit]

I removed the spurious claims to Hatem having created the Blue Lanterns before I saw what a mess I'd walked in on.

Mr Hatem, or whoever else is repeatedly adding these claims, while I'll believe you probably created a character called the "Blue Lantern" in a college newspaper comic strip in the 1980s, even if you could back this claim up with a reliable source, one that is accessible for all of us here to see, in a context that you have no direct control over, the Green Lantern character still dates back to the year 1940, 40 years before your college creation ever would have hit the page.
To lay claim to the creation of a Blue Lantern, which would have required from you nothing more than the ability to swap out one colour for another in the name of a beloved, copyrighted, 40-year old character, is, frankly, silly.
If you do want to try to prove your claim, please get in touch with either myself, or any other editor from this talk page, instead of adding your claim to the page again. I'm sure most of us would happily try to help you out to the best of our ability. --Ae Daily (talk) 18:57, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Boston College requests[edit]

I have looked at the Boston College archive. Yes, a character given that name was drawn for that college paper. The artist should count their lucky stars that DC did not know of its un-notable existence at the time. DC has a wonderful reputation for ruthless protection of its properties. See Captain Marvel (DC Comics). There is no third party source for the notability (nor even the existence) of this Boston College student's doodle. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a battleground for claims of copyright. Wikipedia reports on what reliable, third party sources say about a subject. Attempts to turn Wikipedia into a battleground over this issue should be treated as vandalism after this point, as it has been made abundantly clear over the last year (by multiple editors) what Wikipedia policies have to say about this topic.
