Merger proposal

I propose that Street party be merged into Block party. They are the same concept, except it's called a Block Party in the US and a Street Party in the UK. Tom (talk) 12:23, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Support - The articles look pretty similar to me. Guy1890 (talk) 05:15, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

I do not agree as 'street party' has a specific history and cultural references/concept in the UK and Europe including in different languages. This page refers to 'Block Party' but that is about the US with its own history etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.103.226 (talk) 10:43, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Support: while 'block party' might be a US cultural concept and have an independent character, there is no reason why these national characters can't be explained on a single page; an international comparison on one page will help the understanding of both topics. Both pages are small and can be easily accommodated in one with room for expansion. Klbrain (talk) 04:30, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
