Dear Reader, I would be interested in knowing more about Blance Fisher Wright. I purchased a Mother Goose book pubolished by her in 1912. the book was in an old barn by an antique shop in New Hampshire. I bought the book because some of the full page illustrations were in great condition and on good quality paper. I started to frame a few as we have eleven grandchildren that we would like to show to them some early 1900 prints. Mr. Jere E. I doubt the person on the link is actually the author. Checking the 1930 census shows Fisher still m. to Laite, and having been married for 11 years, and recorded age first married as c.1919.; seems unlikely that there was a Wright marriage. I will take some of that back. I can find her in 1915 New York census as Blanche F. Wright, illustrator, m. Arthur Wright, occupation "literary" living in Westchester; and in 1910 US census living in Kane, Illinois, with Arthur K Wright, Engraver in Watch factory, Blanche no occupation

@Billinghurst: I've been brought here from Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Women#Blanche_Fisher_Wright and done what I could. It would be helpful if you could add the facts that you've gleaned from your researches above, as at present her dates appear completely unsourced and names unexplained. I notice that the Findagrave record and the family tree differ in a lot of their statements, eg parents, birth date, death date. Hmm. The book I found said that "information on her life is difficult to find" and listed her as "active 1900s-1920s". Your census info is impressive: hard officially-recorded facts. There are plentiful records under married name Laite, so it seems that she was a dutiful wife of a successful actor fr:Charles Laite. There may be something in the social pages of newspapers of the 1920s and 30s. I cannot find much for a Holmes connection back in Illinois, beyond the Find a grave record where she is reputedly buried with her mother, not that I spread a wide net. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:31, 21 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
