Possible obsolete information[edit]
The sentence The great trunk railway from Santiago south to Puerto Montt crosses the western part of the province and also connects it with the port of Concepción is lifted directly from the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica. It still seems to be true, but I have no idea whether it would be considered a significant feature of the province today. David Brooks (talk) 04:14, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Official name[edit]
According to the Chilean government, Subsecretaria de Desarollo Regional y Administrativo the spelling is Biobío (one word and no accent on first 'i'). See Regiones, Provincias y comunas de Chile (2011). Episcophagus (talk) 08:33, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
