Different versions[edit]

I have edited the section discussing the two different versions of the first, to remove the statement that Stout originally authored the version published in the magazine and then rewrote the story for the book publication. As of yet, it is not clear why the changes in the versions were made and it is not even certain that Rex Stout made them. Significantly, the collection of Stout manuscripts at Boston College ([finding aid: http://www.nerowolfe.org/pdf/stout/archives/Burns_Stout_Collection.pdf; box 44, folder 5]) includes only one copy, which corresponds to the book rather than the magazine version. (Research is continuing, and any further information would be most welcome.) Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:56, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking Of Differences...[edit]

Speaking of differences, I have gone and added this to the section on the A&E adaptation of this Nero Wolfe story:

"The adaptation is faithful to the original save for a light touch added to the ending: Fritz receives a delivery of lamb chops, much to his and Wolfe's delight, at the same time Beulah phones Archie about having dinner together."

How's that?TH1980 (talk) 21:50, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
