Hello, I'm MarioSoulTruthFan and I'll be reviewing this article in the next days. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:34, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

  • Flawless.

Lead[edit]

  • song by → song recorded by
  • album's producers → album's exuctive-producers
  • Add " "Beautiful Stranger" has appeared on two separate Madonna greatest hits collections: GHV2 (2001) and Celebration (2009)" to the body of the article.
  • "The song received positive feedback from music critics who praised the production, the hooks, influence of the 1990s electronica, Madonna's vocals as well as her ability to progress with her music, following her critically acclaimed album Ray of Light (1998)" → Make two sentences out of this one.
  • and it has been covered by some artists, most recent being Australian rock band DMA's, whose cover was critically acclaimed. → and it has been covered by some artists, including the critically acclaimed done by Australian rock band DMA's.

Background and release[edit]

  • Mike Myers → add some additional info of who he is.
  • "decided not to release any CD single or remix singles to accompany the release, only promo 12" discs were sent to the dance club DJs" → so why is a CD single on the tracklsit and format section?
    • Clarified that it was only for the US. The other markets CD was released.
  • Could you reduce the size of Guy Oseary's picture?

"Beautiful Stranger" has appeared on two separate Madonna greatest hits collections: GHV2 (2001) and Celebration (2009). → I need two references, now that you added here. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:39, 14 September 2016 (UTC)  Done[reply]

Recording and composition[edit]

  • "...acted as assistant engineers for recording" → doesn't flow well.
  • Some critics, such as USA Today's Ken Barnes → isn't there any other critic you could use here?
    • Barnes particularly noted the similarity, why do you ask for any other critic?
Because you said "some critics", and you only mention one. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:40, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception[edit]

  • In the first paragraph you use multiple times the word "call or called it", try a different variation with named it, labeled it and so on...
  • "Matthew Jacobs from The Huffington Post ranked the song 22 on their list of "The Definitive Ranking Of Madonna Singles"; author Matthew Jacobs wrote..." → Matthew Jacobs from The Huffington Post ranked the song 22 on their list of "The Definitive Ranking Of Madonna Singles" writing...

 Done

Chart performance[edit]

  • " It was Madonna's first soundtrack single to chart on the Hot 100 since "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" reached number eight in March 1997. " → she had others?
    • Yup, she has had many others to chart, last was DCFMA as noted.
  • "The track also debuted at number 28 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart" → which track, the former or the latter?
  • He didn't said it "due to Warner Bros." → fix it.
  • You could add the French certification.

Music video[edit]

  • Her make-up was done by Kevyn Aucoin, with whom she had previously worked on her music video for "The Power of Good-Bye". → reference?
  • At the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, the video was nominated in the category of Best Female Video and Best Cinematography, while winning for Best Video from a Film → re-word, if I remove the sentence between commas it makes no sense the sentence.
  • "It also received a nomination for Best Pop Clip of the Year on the 1999 Billboard Music Video Awards. It was also nominated in the category of Best Pop Clip of the Year at the Billboard Music Video Awards" → the same award?
The link is the same?? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:07, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Unlink "MVPA Awards".
  • Replace some of the "video" in the section with promotional clip, clip or even music video... a wide range of vocabulary is needed. Example "The video can be found → It can be found"

 Done

Live performances and covers[edit]

  • ...To be honest though, they kind of won on song choice alone → close the quote and full stop.

 Done

Track listing and formats[edit]

  • Really minor but "col-end" doesn't need space from the last CD Single.

@IndianBio: It's fine, I will check this later today and give you a response or very likely I will pass it. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:00, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@IndianBio: I left a note on the "Background and release", "Recording and composition" and "Music video" section. Please take a look. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:11, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@MarioSoulTruthFan: addressed all the concerns. Added sources for the greatest hits, clarified that it was only Ken Barnes, and removed the duplicate line for the Billboard awards from Music video section. —IB [ Poke ] 16:02, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
