I think "beattie" is also the spelling of slang for two things: 1) A baby pacifier chewed on by young adult, often urban men as a fashion accessory in the 1990's; and 2) a crude cigarette made of brown leaves and sold commercially as an alternative to marijuana. Can anyone confirm this or elaborate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Greensheep (talkcontribs) 2007-02-28 20:10:42 (UTC)

James A. Beattie[edit]

1895-1965? Researcher in chemistry. Beattie–Bridgman model. Percy Williams Bridgman received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1946, but I cannot find anything else about James A. Beattie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marvin W. Hile (talkcontribs) 20:42, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
