Why shown ongoing again?[edit]

User:EkoGraf now why have you shown this battle as ongoing. It clearly says that BRCS had resumed fighting. For 9 days, there were no reports of clashes. It is clear, the "territory" here is of militants sitting in a place and it not secured. The source used for 150 metres clearly says terrorists were not detected in mop-up operations. Why are you reopening something over renewed clashes against a small force days later? MonsterHunter32 (talk) 17:07, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:MonsterHunter32 One source [1] literally says the battle continues - the Benghazi battle still goes on, and the other [2] (which talked about advances in Sidi Akherbish) quoted an LNA officer as saying that the Benghazi operation will be over only after the last 150 square meters held by the militants are taken. The source that talks about the 150 square meters makes no mention of the terrorists not being detected in mop-up operations. In any case, one source clearly says the battle continues and that the fighting is not over and the other says the Benghazi operation will end after they capture the last square meter of militant-held territory. Read the article and the sources. The article you are referring to for continued battle says it clearly these are resumed clashes. Two pockets of militants have resumed the battle from Sabri’s vegetable market and Al-Ruyain hotel. What it simply said is And the fighting is still not over. Not the battle. The title may be saying it so, but the article indidcates clearly they started fighting again. Also it says It is unclear how many militants are now involved in the fight, nor how they were overlooked in the LNA sweep of properties. That's what I referred to. The other article clearly mentions them as remnants. Sidi Akherbish, vegetable market, hotel etc are in Sabri. The earlier article from 18 July clearly mentions these were resumed clashes by "pockets pf militants in Sabri". Between that and 9 July, there were no reports of fighting at all. Exactly, the source says they resumed the battle. Which means the battle was halted for a short period of time and then resumed. That there was a short period of time when there were no clashes does not mean the battle had ended. If you look at the whole timeline of this battle for the past three years you will see there were periods of up to a month or more that there were no reports of any clashes before they resumed again, but we did not consider the battle over during that time. And it was actually just five days, not nine. This source [3] from July 18th clearly says one hospital had received six dead soldiers and 20 wounded in the previous four days. In any case, the two sources clearly state the battle has resumed, it is still ongoing, the militants are still holding territory and the long-running operation will not be over until the last square meter is taken. Taking into account the militant's territory was reduced to just one building three days ago [4] I have now closed the battle since fighters trapped in one building and no real efforts by the LNA it seems to flush them out (only keeping them trapped) doesn't warrant the battle to be opened. PS I will be a bit busy with work over the next week, so if you could find some sources for the period of 2014-15 (which is missing from the article) so we could expand it I would appreciate it. I was planning on doing it myself but I will be really pressed for time for the next five days or so. If you are busy as well you can just leave the sources here on the talk page and I will use them to expand the article when I get a chance. Thanks in advance!
