I don't know where I could put links to videos demonstrating concrete use of bass effects e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3lp3HDVq2Q but there are so many possible videos. I believe it would be useful to offer beginning bassists these kind of source material. What do you think?

The link for "time delay" links to "broadcast delay", which makes no sense - does anyone know what to replace this link with? 212.10.52.108 (talk) 15:26, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

"fuzz bass"? not so much

Really, either the editor(s) who write this stuff ought to actually have some experience playing bass, or they ought to stick to citing people who actually have some experience playing bass.

1. Most of the statements (claims, rather) in Bass effects#Fuzz Bass are unsourced, therefore vulnerable to deletion.
2. Also in that section is a typical fanboy-type claim that distortion and fuzz and overdrive are the same thing. Nonsense, as anyone of minimal experience knows. Have a look at Effects unit#Distortion which, though a scattered mess, at least manages to dig into it a little; better still, also read Distortion (music). At the very least, a credible source MUST be cited to support that erroneous claim, else it's original research and vulnerable to deletion.
3. The jargon must go, for instance the "silicon or germanium" non sequitur.
4. In any case, the section should be significantly reduced, seeing as Fuzz bass is already taking up space elsewhere.
5. Define the words. Does a powered preamp for a piezo pickup constitute "an effects device"? How about an EQ?
6. In my experience, the most common "effect" for bass is a compressor or compressor/limiter, both for recording and for live performance.

Overall suggestion: find some article from Bass Player or on Reverb.com that lists "Most Useful Bass Pedals" or something like that, and use that as a starting point to initially populate this article.
