GA Review[edit]

I will start my review of this article within the next five days. Cheers, Majoreditor (talk) 03:08, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have conducted my initial assessment. While the article is quite good in many aspects, it does not meet GA Criterion 3a (broad in coverage/addresses the main aspects of the topic.) The article is very focused on the construction and architecture of the basilica but doesn't speak to the current congregation, parish activities and the vibrant cathedral school. Additionally, the lead is somewhat incomplete (see WP:LEAD for details.)
If it were just a matter of adding in a few sentences here and there I'd place the article on GA Hold and give you time to work through the issues. However, what's currently needed is more substantial than minor changes, so I'm afraid I have to fail this nomination. Please expand the article to include all the major aspects of the cathedral community and then re-nominate it at GAN. I'm happy to answer questions should you have any. Please don't be discouraged; as I mentioned, the article is quite good in many ways and once you address the concerns I've raised it should pass GAN on its next attempt. Unless anyone objects, I am going to upgrade this article from Start class to C class. Majoreditor (talk) 23:45, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
