It appears that the sole substantive contributor to this page is Barry B. Powell himself. Is this ethical? —VeryRarelyStable (talk) 08:17, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if it's the subject themselves or a fan, but there seems to have been a clear WP:NPOV issue here, if not WP:COI. I've cleaned up the article a bit. - car chasm (talk) 23:23, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

COI tag (September 2023)[edit]

See this diff, the primary contributor to this page is claiming to be its subject. @Wakantanka: I would strongly advise that you not edit this page if this claim is accurate. - car chasm (talk) 22:41, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Wakantanka: became a Wikipedian in 2006 (I am slightly senior, maybe 2005). The WP:COI rules have become much fuller and more explicit since then, and we are now "strongly discouraged" from editing articles about ourselves. It's worth reading this page, not all of it, but the sections headed "External roles and relationships" and "Citing yourself". I find the guidelines in that latter paragraph sensible and practical.
