Merge and link[edit]

Are there any objections here to my merging the contents of the unneeded dab page Barack into this article (that being only a link to Palinka, once [[Barack (brandy) is merged into it) and linking to this article from the top of Barack Obama, as has recently been discussed on Talk:Barack and Talk:Barack Obama? It seems to be the most common (and the closest) spelling variant of "Barack" on Wikipedia, and it has the largest number of links, which makes it the most useful dab to reference on Barack Obama, for anyone who might search for one of the people on this page without knowing the most common spelling. -Silence (talk) 03:15, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How do we know that Barack is derived from Mubarak rather than from Baraka? — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 04:18, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No answer. I found this and other items supporting Baraka but none for Mubarak. Changing the article. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 05:40, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, next question. Why is there no article at Barack (given name)? We don’t lump Mary with Marie, Maria, Miriam, etc. So what's with this effort to shoehorn Barack in with Mubarak? It's a factual error, as well. — ℜob C. alias ᴀʟᴀʀoʙ 05:55, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
