BHUBHU (disambiguation) – It is my proposal and request that BHU should be redirected to Banaras Hindu University for the reason that of the existing disambiguation list,

Kindom of Bhutan -- is hardly, rarely, and perhaps even never referred to as "BHU". The wiki page has no mention of the term; and even the country's ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 code is BTN and not BHU.
Baltimore Hebrew University -- is inactive since 2009, and is now a part of a different university altogether, which no longer functions by the BHU or similar name.
Bhavnagar Airport -- IATA code is BHU, but is not at all referred to as BHU in discussions.
Banco Hipotecario del Uruguay -- the Wikipedia page doesn't seem to explain any importance of the bank, least of all its reference as BHU in discussions.
Barrett Hodgson University, Karachi, Pakistan -- has now been renamed as Salim Habib University, which no longer functions by the BHU or similar name.

It is further submitted that, as it would be known to many that the term "BHU" is a widely colloquial term for Banaras Hindu University in India, Nepal, Bhuta, Tibbet and other places, the term has also been incorporated in the university logo; a google search in English or Hindi would also produce all results for anyone but Banaras Hindu University. The newspapers in English and Hindi refer to the university in headlines by the name of BHU only.

The redirect could be added with a note to a new disambiguation page replacing the current BHU, as is the norm on Wikipedia.

I look forward to hearing your views and contentions on this. User4edits (talk) 19:08, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Sawol: Sorry I am not able to comprehend you fully. If you are suggesting how about redirecting both BHU and B.H.U. to Banaras Hindu University; then my assumption is that as B.H.U. redirects to BHU and BHU shall be redirected to Banaras Hindu University, it answers the question. Let me know if you meant anything else. Regards, User4edits (talk) 06:56, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@User4edits: That would be a double redirect, which is to be avoided. --Muhandes (talk) 10:36, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Muhandes: Noted. Thank you for the information. In that case, only BHU needs to be redirected, as of now. Thanks,User4edits (talk) 11:13, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support User4edits makes a compelling argument. The other 5 targets are very rarely referred to as "BHU" while BHU is a common abbreviation for Banaras Hindu University and is very commonly used in the media, for example see Google News. --Muhandes (talk) 10:42, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom I agree with the reasoning and comments by others. Venkat TL (talk) 08:25, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
