Built in 1978[edit]

– I think that the actual school is obviously the PRIMARYTOPIC, and that the historic building, now used as a Family and Probate Courthouse, should have another name. I would prefer something like "Fall River Family and Probate Courthouse", but I wasn't able to determine to my satisfaction what the official name of the building was. (I have no problem with continuing to leave the spaces out of "B. M. C.", if the closer prefers.) SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:47, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • The building article does follow what I believe is the current NRHP projects naming guideline. Having said that, it is obvious here that this may well not be the best choice. Normally I would recommend a rename to B. M. C. Durfee High School (building) but that could well be ambiguous here, but then the proposed name may be viewed by those completely opposed to pre disambiguation as an incorrect title. As I understand the issue, we had the student body and the school organization move from an old building to a new one. So the organization did not change but we have two buildings sharing a name (and the B.M.C. Durfee High School (1978) article does not address either building or the longer history except for the established date in the infobox). Ignoring any issues about the spaces in the beginning of the tittles, I think
    B.M.C. Durfee High School → B.M.C. Durfee High School (1886 building)
    B.M.C. Durfee High School (1978) → B. M. C. Durfee High School
    Create a redirect at B.M.C. Durfee High School (1978 building) to B.M.C. Durfee High School adding that section with a pointer to the historic buildings article and something about the new building.
