I deleted this text from the lead:
Cohen is an internationally recognized jazz trumpet player, composer, and bandleader. His playing style reflects a heavy influence from the bebop and post-bop traditions. However elements of avant-garde jazz, and jazz fusion, as well as other contemporary styles can be heard in Cohen's playing as well. Cohen attended the Berklee College of Music and began establishing himself within the jazz community after placing third in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Trumpet Competition.
As it is highly promotional in tone and completely unsourced. While it may be true, whoever wants it in the article I suggest you put it in the main body, get rid of the puffery and hype and reference it with inline citations. As it is now, it is highly promotional in tone. See WP:PEA and WP:BLP and WP:NPOV and WP:VERIFY— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tjcam (talk • contribs) 21:19, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
