Untitled[edit]

This is an extremely hasty speedy delete tag invoked by an overzealous editor. The subject of the article is a a notable American artist who's been the subject of articles in Los Angeles Times, Jane, and Australian Vogue. If this is still going to be challenged, I demand an AfD rather than a speedy deletion. Peter G Werner 07:12, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will note two points and then be done with this. First: can you provide references for those articles? They are not included in the given links, nor are they mentioned in the current article. Second: why does three articles make Kawasaki notable? There are many people with such who would not be included in Wikipedia. Admins, your ball. Michaelbusch 07:18, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, considering I haven't even had time to write the goddamn article before User:Michaelbusch tagged it, of course the article is thin on references and other info. I have to say, I consider this editor's behavior outrageous and am thinking of going to Mediation cabal over this. A compromise I'd find acceptable, if the admins think the article just won't stand on its own right now, is to move it to my Userspace, where I can work on it further until its ready to "go live". Peter G Werner 07:32, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy that it isn't just me. MB and I have had run ins elsewhere and I found this article through his talk page. The episode gives me insight into his character and does a smidgen of good for my blood pressure. Thanks all. TMLutas 13:07, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll also note, upon checking "What links here", that this had been a requested article, for what its worth. Peter G Werner 08:59, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've declined the speedy. I was a bit suspicious about references to LiveJournal profiles (not recommended), but the Vogue article swung it for me. Peter, I normally write my new articles in user space first until they are in a state to be published here: e.g. User:Peter G Werner/sandbox. The JPStalk to me 09:30, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Will start articles that way in the future. If you notice, the only thing I reference from her LiveJournal page is her birthdate, which I think is permissible, especially since more typical sources aren't so likely to give that particular detail.
