A fact from Astreptolabis appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 17 September 2012 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the fossil genus Astreptolabis(pictured) is one of four described Burmese amberearwigs?
The original author (Engel, 2011, p. 140) mentions: "Greek words etheira (meaning, “hairy”). In ancient Greek ἔθειρα (etheira) is a noun, meaning "hair" and not an adjective. So this etymology seems to be incorrect. Wimpus (talk) 19:52, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The author states what their intent is, that is the key aspect, yes they are not fully using the right wording, BUT the authors intent with the etymology is explicitly stated, and not incorrect.--Kevmin§ 20:31, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
