Fair use rationale for Image:28cover1.jpg[edit]

Image:28cover1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Missing W:NP ![edit]

This Wikipedia page on Ashok Chaturvedi seems to present a one-sided view of his tenure as the chief of R&AW. It focuses extensively on controversies and alleged failures, while downplaying any positive contributions or achievements during his leadership. This approach creates a skewed and incomplete portrayal of Chaturvedi's career.

1) The V.K. Singh Book Dispute:

The section on the V.K. Singh book dispute emphasizes Chaturvedi's alleged misconduct and personal vendetta, without providing a broader context or exploring alternative viewpoints. It fails to mention any possible motivations behind Singh's claims or the reasons for Chaturvedi's actions, leading to an imbalanced representation of events.

2) The Colombo Spy Scandal:

The Colombo spy scandal is presented in a manner that disproportionately highlights Chaturvedi's alleged mishandling of the situation. While it is important to address any lapses within intelligence agencies, the section fails to provide a comprehensive analysis of the incident or consider other factors that may have contributed to the situation.

3) The Indian Intelligence Failure:

The section on the intelligence failure during Chaturvedi's tenure only focuses on his alleged failure to anticipate and respond to the state of emergency in Pakistan. However, it neglects to mention any successes or achievements in intelligence operations during the same period, leading to an incomplete portrayal of his leadership.

4) The Nepal Exposure:

The section on the Nepal exposure appears to emphasise Chaturvedi's alleged interference and personal gain without providing sufficient evidence or counterarguments. It overlooks any potential justifications for his actions and fails to explore the complex dynamics of India-Nepal relations during that time.

5) Diplomatic Faux Pas:

The section on diplomatic faux pas highlights Chaturvedi's perceived lack of knowledge or misjudgment without considering the challenges and complexities of diplomatic engagements. It fails to acknowledge that such incidents can occur to any individual, especially in high-pressure situations, and do not necessarily reflect overall competence.

6) Government Sanctions Dismissal:

The section discussing the government's decision to dismiss Chaturvedi lacks objectivity and fails to present a comprehensive assessment of the situation. By primarily focusing on criticisms and ignoring potential reasons for the government's action, it perpetuates a negative image of Chaturvedi without providing a balanced perspective.

7) Unsanctioned Post-Retirement Perks:

While the section on unsanctioned post-retirement perks raises valid concerns, it seems to single out Chaturvedi without providing a broader context or exploring if similar instances occurred with other retired officials. This selective portrayal contributes to a biased representation of Chaturvedi's post-retirement activities. Alexandria Bucephalous (talk) 07:14, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
