Arlberg-Kandahar in the World Cup[edit]

Dear Sir, I would like to give some notes:

The term "Arlberg Kandahar" is not used very often in the present. In the first years of that Event, it was a very important one; and like Combined Events at Lauberhorn, Hahnenkamm (until the first years in the 1960ies, Hahnenkamm-races were held for male and female racers) or typical female Combined Events (Races at Grindelwald, and the "Goldschlüssel-Rennen" Schruns or "Silberner Krug" Bad Gastein - "Goldschlüssel" may be translated as "golden key" and "Silberner Krug" als "Jug of Silver"), only the winner of the Combined was the "great winner"; no one of the racers, the Team Official or the public did take notice who has won the downhill race or slalom race.
Regulations of the "Arlberg Kandahar" were different to the Lauberhorn-Combined a.s.o., because the result of the downhill race (first portion of that Event) was the "key" for the slalom race. The first of the downhill race was awarded with bib number 1 in the slalom race, the second with bib number 2 a.s.o. - Such a manner didn't fit for the World Cup. Therefore, only the result of the downhill race did count for the World Cup, the slalom race was carried out without being a World Cup Race. Since the season 1969/70, the organizers of the "Arlberg Kandahar" did adapt the regulations for the slalom races, therefore the "Kandahar Slalom" became a World Cup Race too. - But over the time two organizers did cop out: Murren did bail out for ever, likewise Chamonix. 213.225.8.251 (talk) 13:52, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
