Question[edit]

Was this page approved? I do understand that I have to work on it in order to improve and will do so whenever I have time. This is my first article on wiki. Just trying to learn.

Newsletter issue[edit]

I have changed/edited anything that makes this sounds like a newsletter hence I am removing the warning. 216.16.227.118 (talk)meOP

Not even close. The article contains nothing but positive assertions about ARGO. Are you trying to tell me nothing bad has ever happened to ARGO? Nobody anywhere has ever been even slightly displeased with ARGO? That would be quite extraordinary. Usually companies that have never annoyed anyone are too obscure to deserve a Wikipedia article in the first place.

And of course the language is all PR. "Amphibious ATVs are very popular!" Really? Compared to what? Lady Gaga? Cheese? Source? The article is like a resume, like a list of all the good things ARGO has ever done. The page is currently at a decent starting point, but the next step would be to fill in the missing question: what do independent sources who are not in love with this company have to say about it?

If there are no independent sources, then the article fails Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and should be deleted. --Dbratland (talk) 23:05, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

explanation[edit]

I excised a reference that cited another wikipedia article. We don't consider online encyclopedias, that are built by volunteers, to be reliable sources -- not even our own wikipedia. Geo Swan (talk) 01:16, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
