Summary: The author wrote two small articles on genus of Black Coral: one about Aphanipathes and one about Cirrhipathes. The author mentions that the classification of Aphanipathes is debated, but provides some information about the coral’s habitats and appearances. The section about Cirrhipathes describes the coral’s characteristics, defense mechanisms, and feeding habits.

Major Points: Is it within the scope of this article to describe why the taxonomic category for the first coral is not agreed upon throughout the literature? This would be interesting to read about.

Good job adding links to other Wikipedia pages – they help direct the reader to areas containing more information. I think creating a link to a word once is fine, rather than multiple times throughout the article (i.e., subtropical/subtropic are both linked in blue)

Provide more information about the first coral: where they live, what they eat, how they protect themselves, how they reproduce, etc. The author does this nicely for the second coral, although the more information provided for each, the better.

The author included photos of each coral – they are nice additions to the article. I also like the break-down of scientific classification and different species’ names in the side margin. Perhaps mention these within the article itself and refer readers to the side column for further information (although several of these links are red).

Try to explain more complicated concepts (i.e., mutualistic interaction with photosynthetic zooxanthellae) in laymen’s terms. It’s useful to have the blue links there, but the audience is more peer-based and less scholarly-based.

Minor Points: “Morphological appearances” – is morphological the right word? (Reminds me of linguistics)

Consistent, appropriate use of citations in the first section, but needed in the second. I would suggest listing textbooks or other written sources if readers are interested in more information, even if these are not directly referenced in the article.

Summary
These articles discuss two genus of black coral, Aphanipathes and Cirrhipathes. The article discusses Aphanipathes first and touches on the disagreement on its classification. The article then briefly discusses habitat and appearance. The Cirrhipathes article discusses appearance, nutrient acquisition, habitat, and some interactions with other organisms.

Major Points
Both sections should be longer if possible. Sections that might be useful to add, if there is information: habitat, behavior, reproduction, diet, etc. Some of these topics were touched upon, but they could be expanded.

For example, the Cirrhipathes article has a lot of good information. This page could start out with two or three sentences introducing the coral. Then the information could be separated into habitat, physiology, and feeding. The information is all there, but it is crammed into two long paragraphs. It does not fit the wikipedia format as is.

I think more citations would also improve the reliability and trustworthiness of this article.

Minor Points
After a page has been linked to one, I think it is uncommon and unnecessary to keep linking to it, for example when Alphanipathes is used.

"These polyps are responsible for providing defense and feeding mechanisms in the form of stinging structures (present in their tentacles) known as nematocysts that are fired at preys or predators." I would recommend breaking this sentence up into two separate sentences. Or even utilizing a semicolon.
