Can anyone confirm that Gallenga was made Professor of Italian Literature at London University (University College) in 1843? Contemporary reviews of his works refer to him as such in their reviews. Also, the inscribed graffiti 'L. Mariotti 1875' is carved into one of the colossi at Abu Simbel and I'm wondering if this is also him, though unclear why he would be travelling under his pseudonym at that date Scott E Hill (talk) 11:58, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
