Comment[edit]

Diabelli's alleged first name Antonio is an invention of posterity.--131.130.135.193 09:14, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vital Dates[edit]

Most sources agree with our dates (born 6 September, died 7 April), but Slonimsky, a name I generally trust, has born 5 September and died 8 April. Anyone know why he prefers these alternative dates? -- JackofOz (talk) 13:51, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because these dates are the correct ones. See: Leopold Angerer, Leben und Kirchenkompositionen von Anton Diabelli, Phil. Diss., Vienna 1957, p.6 and 54. This dissertation is based on the relevant primary sources (the Mattsee church registers and the Viennese death protocol).--Suessmayr (talk) 17:11, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
