References / Release Date[edit]

Player017, you're doing a lot of great work on this article, but I think you're going overboard citing the game itself so many times. I think this is recommended against by WP:PRIMARY, in particular these parts: Material based purely on primary sources should be avoided, and Do not base an entire article on primary sources, and be cautious about basing large passages on them. Thanks for considering this and keep up the good work. --4368 (talk) 17:31, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I figured as much. By the way, the Steam page for Analogue says it was released for Steam on April 24, 2012. What was the February 1 date for? -017Bluefield (talk) 02:56, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The game was released directly (self-published by the author) before it was put on Steam. Most of the reviews were published in early February, before the April Steam release. --4368 (talk) 20:40, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see. But I still think we need all the info - including the Steam release date - just in case. —017Bluefield (talk) 19:05, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine with me. If you look at some other games, they have the release date listed by platform and/or geographic location (North America, Europe, etc.). --4368 (talk) 21:53, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Stuff[edit]

(for beginning, Gamelpay, and Synopsis sections)

Also:

  • Expansion of Reception/Start Development sections.
  • Make the Plot less vague.
  • Add more to the infobox.
    • e.g. Approximate rating would be appreciated; the content of many of the in-game logs (plus something *Mute had said) give it an M rating.

Just so you guys know, alright?

-017Bluefield (talk) 03:17, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

These two interviews might help for the development (and perhaps plot) section(s): [1], [2]. I haven't read the 1up one yet, I just found it on the author's blog [3]. --4368 (talk) 20:50, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
All right, that's good for a rough skeletal draft. Meanwhile, what happened to the photos? We may need them to make the article 'less dull' at a glance. —017Bluefield (talk) 19:09, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't done it because it's a bit of a pain to navigate the copyright requirements. It'd be nice to have full-res screenshots, but you might need to get written permission from the copyright holder or something. Otherwise I think you can use scaled-down screenshots with a special copyright template. Not sure of the details though. --4368 (talk) 21:53, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What a shame. If you can, though, you might be able to find some on Steam. --017Bluefield (talk) 18:32, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, good placeholder. We're off to a good start. --017Bluefield (talk) 17:47, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Two-sided story[edit]

There's two paths that lead to Endings 1 or 2 (*Hyun-ae) and Endings 4 or 5 (*Mute). Do we need to restructure the Story section to reflect thIs? If so, one possible way would be this:

  • Plot
    • *Hyun-ae's arc
    • *Mute's arc
    • Endings

Overuse of issue templates[edit]

This page is full of issue templates and I don't see why most of them are warranted.

Gameplay: "This section may need to be rewritten entirely to comply with Wikipedia's quality standards. You can help. The discussion page may contain suggestions. (July 2012)"

Rewritten entirely? Why?

And why does every paragraph end with "citation needed?" Shouldn't that just be used for specific facts and claims?

Development: "This section requires expansion. (June 2012)"

It's three large paragraphs. Sure, more information could still be added, but the section has an appropriate size for the article.

Marketing: "This section requires expansion. (February 2013)"

I'd say merge the one sentence on licensing into a different section (e.g. Development) and move the soundtrack into its own section, or a Media section together with the sequel.

Reception: "This section is incomplete. (July 2012)"

What is incomplete about it?

Sequel DLC: "This section may need to be rewritten entirely to comply with Wikipedia's quality standards. You can help. The discussion page may contain suggestions. (September 2012)"

There is room for improvement, but if someone rewrote it entirely, it'd probably be worse.

The top of the page: "This article is incomplete. (March 2013) / This article may need to be rewritten entirely to comply with Wikipedia's quality standards. (June 2012)"

I think the article is reasonably complete and does not need to be rewritten entirely.

I'd like to propose the removal of these templates. The only template I'd agree with keeping is for the empty Translations section. I'm not sure why the rest of them are being used at all.

If there's no objections I'll make the changes myself in a few days. --4368 (talk) 07:28, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --4368 (talk) 00:02, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
