Sexual abuse[edit]
In 2020, he was investigated by the Judiciary Police of Portugal for alleged crimes of sexual coercion and rape following a criminal complaint filed by 8 former students and employees of the headquarters of the Portuguese Yoga Confederation. The investigation report which is public determined the criminal complicity of the current president of the Portuguese Yoga Confederation, Sandra Marília Xavier (Chandra Shakti Devi Jyotishmati) with whom he lives in a conjugal relationship. he did not learn yoga in India[edit]
He learnt Yoga with Brazilian teacher Luiz Sérgio Álvarez DeRose in Portugal in the 1980’s, becoming his main disciple in this country.
